The education, clinical work and treatment approach of Dr. Ali İlker Baştan.
After graduating from Istanbul University’s Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Ali İlker Baştan completed a master’s degree in Oral Implantology at Yeditepe University. His thesis examined postoperative CT assessment of implant treatments supported by preoperative panoramic radiographs.
Dental implant surgery and implant-supported restorations have remained central areas of his clinical work since that period.

He completed a laser dentistry mastership programme offered in association with RWTH Aachen University and Bezmialem Vakıf University. The programme addressed clinical applications, biophysical principles and safe use of dental lasers.
He subsequently completed his PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ondokuz Mayıs University. His doctoral research used finite element analysis to assess stress distribution in different implant configurations under functional forces.

Dr. Baştan integrates laser-assisted systems into his work in oral and maxillofacial surgery and dental implantology. He has shared his clinical experience through written and oral presentations at national and international scientific meetings.
His continuing education includes an observer role in the United States, advanced surgical and implant courses, seminars and congresses. His biography also describes online professional work with the Plastic Surgery department at Stanford University.
“Laser Arts in Oral Surgery” is the title of his English-language book project.

A biological dentistry perspective considers the teeth and surrounding tissues as a whole. Planning takes account of natural tissue preservation, function, aesthetics and long-term care needs.
Soft and hard tissue reconstruction, surgical options and restorative care are considered in relation to each patient’s clinical findings and individual needs.

Following assessment, suitable treatment options are planned with oral health and function considered together.
