Dr. Ali İlker Baştan is a pioneer in the field of laser dentistry. He is an implant dentistry specialist and oral surgeon and serves at his practice in Bağdat Street, Istanbul.

Dr. Baştan completed his education at the Faculty of Dentistry at Istanbul University and was the first physician to receive a master’s degree in Oral Implantology at Yeditepe University. He completed this program with a thesis on “Postoperative CT Evaluation of Implant Treatments Supported by Panoramic Radiographs in the Preoperative Period”. Since this period, he has been working intensively on dental implant surgery and implant supported prosthesis. She then completed a mastership program in the field of Laser Therapy Applications in Dentistry, a joint program between RWTH Aachen University and Bezmialem University. This program included a detailed program on laser physics, safety and use, covering theoretical and biophysical backgrounds as well as clinical indications and applications of laser wavelengths used in dentistry. Following this program, Dr. Baştan successfully completed his PhD program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Ondokuz Mayıs University and received the title of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He completed his doctoral study with a thesis on “Evaluation of stress distribution of dental implant application in different numbers and designs for single tooth replacement under functional and parafunctional forces by finite element analysis method”.
