Comprehensive Implant Planning

Full-Mouth Dental Implants in Istanbul

For extensive tooth loss in one or both jaws, the plan begins with the remaining teeth and the intended restoration, not a predetermined implant number.

Individual Assessment

Full-Arch Care Includes More Than One Method

Full-mouth implant treatment considers implant-supported restorations when a complete arch is missing or the remaining teeth cannot be predictably maintained. Fixed full-arch bridges, segmented bridges and, in suitable cases, implant-retained removable options may be discussed.

Dr. Ali İlker Baştan assesses the upper and lower jaws separately. All-on-4 could be suitable in one jaw and All-on-6 in the other; some patients need a different distribution or preparatory bone treatment. The possibility of retaining natural teeth is considered alongside the surgical and prosthetic design.

Suitability

What Determines the Treatment Plan?

01

Remaining Teeth

Maintainable teeth are assessed; an extraction is not decided merely because a full-arch option is considered.

02

Bone and General Health

Three-dimensional imaging, bone distribution, medical history and healing factors are reviewed.

03

Restorative Needs

Fixed or removable designs, speech, appearance, bite and cleaning access are considered together.

Treatment Journey

How Does Full-Arch Treatment Progress?

If both jaws require treatment, each receives its own implant and prosthetic plan.

  1. 01

    Initial Assessment

Existing X-rays, oral health, medication and expectations are discussed.

  2. 02

    Individual Design

Implant distribution and temporary and final restoration options are determined.

  3. 03

    Surgery and Temporary Phase

The planned procedures are performed; temporary teeth are assessed when conditions permit.

  4. 04

    Final Bridge and Maintenance

After healing, the final restoration and long-term review schedule are completed.

Compare the Options

All-on-4, All-on-6 and Other Options

The choice between four and six implants is not based solely on how many teeth are missing. Bone positions, bridge length, bite forces and cleaning access determine whether each implant can contribute useful support.

Advanced upper-jaw bone loss may lead to discussion of bone augmentation or a specialist option such as zygomatic implants. No single configuration is prescribed for every patient.

Individual suitability requires clinical assessment and imaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is full-mouth implant treatment?

It is the planning of implant-supported restorations when a complete arch is missing or remaining teeth cannot be maintained.

Does every missing tooth need an implant?

No. Well-distributed implants can support a bridge replacing multiple teeth.

Will the same method be used in both jaws?

Not necessarily. Bone anatomy and restorative needs differ between jaws.

Will all remaining teeth be extracted?

No. Natural teeth that can be maintained are assessed first.

Are there options beyond All-on-4 and All-on-6?

Yes. Segmented fixed bridges and implant-retained removable restorations may be appropriate.

Can treatment proceed when bone has been lost?

Imaging may indicate bone grafting or another approach, but suitability is individual.

Can I receive temporary teeth straight away?

A temporary restoration may be possible if implant stability and other clinical conditions allow.

When is the final bridge made?

Timing depends on healing and the chosen restorative design.

How do I care for the restoration?

Daily cleaning and regular professional reviews are essential; tools depend on the bridge design.

Can treatment be planned from abroad?

Records can be shared for an initial discussion; the final plan needs in-person assessment and imaging.
